My last hospital stay

My last stay was very sad because it had been 8 months since my last stay! I was hoping to continue that great record.

It all started when I could not keep anything down for a couple of days. I was vomiting everything I put in my body. My breathing started to drop, which I was certain was caused by the lack of meds. I finally decided to go in because I needed to receive my medication some how. I was given IV meds and they also did an x-ray because of my breathing. The x-ray came back that my right lung was partially collapsed and I had infection. I was upset with the finding, but was glad I had made the decision to go in the first place. I was admitted and started on fluids and continuous potassium and antibiotics.

The second day my Iv came out and they inserted a central line. This way they were able to pump me full of liquids and potassium through 2 lines instead of one. The same day a nurse blocked one line. The central line was painful. I was unable to turn or move my neck certain ways since it was sewen on to my chest.

With about a week, I improved a lot and was able to go home. I went to my specialist that same week and he found more infection in my lungs and I was started back on antibiotics.
I am now infection free!
